World Trade Center After the Fall Fall 2002 (B. Aaron Parker, Victor Caliandro) In the photographic project On This Site, Joel Sternfeld documents a seemingly banal but historically charged storage facility in Jersey City. The site is where chemicals stored by Islamic terrorists were used to build the bomb that exploded in the basement of the World Trade Center in 1993, killing six people and injuring over one thousand more. It's an image that initiated the paired themes of banality and secrecy, two terms that motivated the architecture of my post-9/11 replanning scheme. next |
