Subjected Pythagoragraph Terra-Electropolis: Double Vision Fall 2001 (Robert Adams) As a set-up for future field studies along the Iron Range of Minnesota, we were to design and build a tool that enhances, exaggerates, and manipulates perception. The initial thinking for this project came from looking at older cameras like a Duaflex Brownie -- cameras that hang around the neck and displace the user's eye. This concept was paired with the desire for an imaging tool that works in motion, capturing images at a 90-degree angle to its movement. The result -- the Subjected Pythagoragraph -- is a hybrid object made from a Samsonite suitcase and Polaroid One Step camera. next |
