Subjected Pythagoragraph Terra-Electropolis: Didactic Tour Fall 2001 (Robert Adams) The landscape of the Iron Range was taken as a series of sites to test architectural ideas that spun out over the course of the semester. This image -- from a promotional postcard -- shows the Hull-Rust Mine in Hibbing, an open pit taconite mine in Northern Minnesota responsible for much of the steel consumed by Americans. This dramatic artificial landscape became the focus of a tour, a network of circulation for the insider and outsider to experience the landscape as existing material and saturated field. next |
